Great book lots of information !!

I was looking for Life, Health and Accident for MI, but I did not cover everything.

I had to give this 3 stars because a person can pass the test if they use it, since you only need to get 70%. But it is poorly written with poor grammar in many places and has several glaring issues that would cause confusion, so it isn't efficient for quick study since there will be places you'll be going back, wondering what you've missed. Like, it has these quick summaries in each chapter to highlight the type of things you must know from the chapter, but in these summaries it sometimes adds vocabulary that were never mentioned in the chapter (will they be on the test?), or doesn't discuss the same issues that were mentioned in the chapter -- for example, for the spendthrift clause the chapter only talks about whether a beneficiary is a spendthrift and how you can arrange for benefits to be paid in that case. But in the quick summary it only talks about whether the insured is a spendthrift -- never mentioned in the chapter -- so you are left wondering what else they didn't tell you? This confirms my experience taking a practice SAT at Kaplan, where I found several of the questions were very poorly worded in a way that no one at the College Board would have done. If I were the head of an insurance company and my agents were using this, I'd be concerned. After all, it's priced the same as other textbooks but it hasn't been given what one would expect to be a reasonable amount of editorial supervision.

The entire first portion of the book is a recount of the history of dinosaurs and their evolution thereof. The second part of the book pertains to gene manipulation concerning drugs versus master genes using chickens as a base genome example. The last portion of the book goes over the concise Evolution from bird to mammal and explores the theory of reversing evolution.A great read if you can follow it. There is a lot of scientific verbiage that would be difficult for the layman do you understand. Very interesting theories and very entertaining overviews. Jack Horner takes you in depth in seeing just how close we are to creating the Chickenosaurus.

I love dinosaurs, and I really enjoyed this book. The criticisms I have are that it was on the short side, it could have been better organized, and I feel that he was too focused on chickens. I have heard of other bird species retaining some primitive characteristics, for example (if I remember correctly) hoatzin chicks having claws on their wings. He doesn't mention anything like this, but I feel that he should have because it is relevant to his argument. Other than that I found it very interesting. When he talks about creating a dinosaur, it isn't what you expect. He also goes into some of the science, which I think is easier to understand if you have at least some science background.

When reading the first half of this book, this reviewer found it difficult at first to connect its subject matter with the title of the book. The expectation was that the book was going one devoted to genetic and metabolic engineering as applied to embryology. Instead the authors devote the first half to matters of paleontology and the art of fossil hunting. Readers eager to learn how to "build a dinosaur" may therefore get impatient with the authors, and may be tempted to put the book down and not go further.This would be a mistake, since in the latter half of the book the authors get down to explaining what kind of techniques or knowledge may be necessary to produce a creature that for all practical purposes, i.e. in terms of its skeletal structure and general appearance would be a living dinosaur. Studying these pages is fascinating, and indeed gives one more reason for believing that if the authors or other biologists succeed in bringing this about, then this would be the most awesome feat in scientific and technological history.What is most important about the author's proposals is that they are not dependent on having the genomes of long extinct dinosaurs. Instead, they seek to adjust the timing of the growth patterns that led to the evolution of birds from nonavian dinosaurs. This is to be done via the embryo of a domestic chicken. But changing the timing of metabolic and growth processes, this timing being regulated by genes, must respect what actually occurred in the evolutionary development of the bird from the dinosaur. Otherwise what results is a kind of "freak" that may be of interest in general but will not represent a genuine dinosaur of the kind that roamed the earth millions of years ago.A small amount of space is devoted in the book to the ethics and dangers of this kind of effort. These discussions are important but did not convince this reviewer that the author's proposals should not be carried out. On the contrary, they should be done immediately without any mental reservation. Right now. Today.

The first 5 chapters of this book exemplify science writing at its best. There is the personal, but it always relates to the science, and is interesting besides. Most amazing to me (p.108) is that there is sufficient collagen protein preserved in some dinosaur fossils that you can inject them into a rabbit, thereby generate antibodies, and these antibodies recognize the corresponding chicken protein.The last two chapters are not at the same level. Horner is interested in promoting a grand experiment: modifying embryonic chicken development so that you create a creature with the features belonging to the chicken's non-avian dinosaur ancestors. There is a lot of developmental biology which must first be mastered to accomplish this. However, at the level of detail that Horner writes, there is just not enough to say to adequately fill the 50 pages devoted to the subject. As explained I couldn't fully appreciate the concept of symmetry, and Horner did not want to go into such topics as just how staining works in tracing embryo development.Horner himself is a delightful man, careful to give credit where it is due, willing to tell some anecdotes which do not paint him in the best light, and willing to spend $40,000 of his own money to sponsor research he believes in! However, sometimes he seems to be implicitly assuming that it is only the control genes which mutate, so that just by modifying their signals you can creat a viable creature with dinosaur characteristics.

The characters blew me out of the water! The storyline was crazy Sharp. The relationship was off-the-charts wild and lustful, just like I like it. I've never experienced any of those situations myself but when I read it on the pages it's like I'm there and experience everything for myself which is really cool. Thanks for writing keep up the good work.

A very dark and erotic story. A young girl who gets off on blackmailing bad married men. Two brothers who think her responsible for their brother's death, plenty of twists and turns, intrigue, a little mystery for the girl to solve, this is one book you won't want to miss.

I loved this!! I always enjoy a good dark read with taboo and BDSM and this story was perfect!! While this story was full of hot, scorching scenes, it still had a well thought out plot. Any reader out there that truly enjoys a dark read with plenty of sexual scenes with a captivating plot, then this book needs to be on your list!

Rather dark and scary but seductive in its own way. Drew you in and made it hard to stop reading once you began. If you like kidnapping, spanking, hot DS sex, with a dangerous sexy twist you must read this!

Just ok. Should have spent a lot more time on the ending. Most of book was unbelievable to me and she was too inexperienced to take down that big of a company.

I liked the characters, how they evolved in the story, and the twist at the end!

When Lizzy gets caught by two brothers, Reynard and Mauro, for what they believe is her fault for their older brother’s demise, she doesn’t know what she is in for. Reynard is a beast and has a darkness that he will unleash on the young innocent woman and Mauro, even though he also has a beast within, is able restrain himself. Lizzy is scared and doesn’t know what will become of her, locked away from the outside world she only has the two brothers to rely on food, water etc, but what she doesn’t know is her past is coming back in full force to haunt her and Reynard will be the one to make all her statement come true...will she survive once he breaks her.A dark read with no hearts and flowers and no revelations of ever lasting love. It’s not a light read with romance, and even though there are steamy scenes, it’s punishment, BDSM, and at times, I didn’t think the beast Reynard could be redeemed. I’m hoping there will be a follow up to these three, because it just seemed to end, I want to know if Lizzy grows a backbone or just wants punishment, will Reynard show some heart, will they all be together, what happens now etc. It left me hanging but not really in a good way. I did like the fact the Lizzy was smart and able to help the two, but once again...what happens now. 3.5 stars*I voluntarily read an advanced copy and expressed my honest opinion*
