This is a book for Brits over sixty. If you remember watching "Zoo Quest" on TV as a kid, you will love this book. If you are younger or not British, most of it will mean nothing to you. I've always admired David Attenborough and hearing him reading his own book is a real pleasure. His stories about the early days of television are fascinating and some of the technical issues he discusses are illuminating, if you are (or were) that kind of nerd. I never realized that he almost got pulled away from making nature programs and was seduced by the dark side of the BBC - the administration. He was even considered for the job of Director General (the top dog at the BBC) but happily he quit the BBC and went back to making the "Life" series, which has been so successful. As I said at the beginning, if you remember "Zoo Quest", if you remember standing outside a TV shop watching Wimbledon in colour (not color) or you know who (or what) "Hullabaloo and Custard" were, you should buy the book or better still, the recording. You will LOVE it.

Every body knows how professional, intelligent and brilliant David Attenborough is when he does his job. But in disc 1 he reveals that even David Attenborough had times of struggling and had to make the biggest decisions of life when he was a youth. I'm a huge fan of the design work of Miles Redd, but this book is a total and complete waste of money. Apart from being a "trend setting" coffee table book that people will see and say "wow, you have $80 to throw away on a book" it is trash. The photos are blurry, they were not taken with a camera that allowed them to be printed so large without the pixels getting blurred. The pictures are all on the internet - so there is no "new" inspiration to be gained. A lack luster volume I would tell anyone to avoid.

This book has been overhyped. Too many black and white pictures on poor paper bound in a cheap way so as to come apart readily. Very disappointing. Mostly pictures with very little description of rooms and the thought process of why things were selected. There are a number of good books out there that certainly outshine this one. Amazon was great about their return policy.

Great pictures, but for the price, it is poorly constructed. It goes for about $75 at my local book store, but thankfully I bought it here for $50. One page seems like it will come apart soon and the corner of the book is bent!

This book was just ok. Not stellar but not absolutely terrible as some of the reviews claim. I'm confused by all these reviews stating a lot of the pictures are black and white. Majority of them are color while there are some black and white- Remind you....Black and white is chic. I love the style of this book but I wish there was more variety in architecture and design.

The book content is fantastic but the binding of the book is awful. All the pages began releasing immediately and is the poorest of manufacturing quality

Great coffee table book

I should have read more reviews first: they warned that this is not a book that shows Redd's variety of décor projects, and they were right. This is like his inspiration board, and I had no interest in the repetitive close-ups of expensive antiques and personal ephemera that so excite the author. Most photos are in B&W (so ridiculous as Redd is known for color) and poorly shot. Very disappointing.

Being reared eleven miles from Clemson University, and youngest daughters of a Clemson graduate, South Carolina State Senator T. Ed. Garrison, Jr., there was no question that Catherine and Elizabeth like their older siblings, Gaye, Tom, Bart, and Lee would go anywhere other than Clemson! Like other Little Tigers, their love for Clemson began early. Catherine and Elizabeth loved going to football games with their family. Game day mornings, the girls would set up a display of all their Clemson treasures on their farms sign by the road for all to see on their way to Death Valley. It was especially exciting to cheer as the Clemson football teams buses zoomed by headed to the game! While at Clemson, Elizabeth and Catherine were roommates and sorority sisters. Elizabeth was on IPTAY Student Advisory Board and received the Trustees Medal for public speaking. Catherine was a University Tour Guide and Clemson Homecoming Queen. Or was it Elizabeth? (As identical twins, they had lots of fun confusing folks all over campus!) Catherine lives in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina with her husband Mark and their two little boys, Tillman and James. Elizabeth and her husband Jake live in Greenville and own and operate Kentucky Fried Chicken restaurants. All return frequently to help with events at their familys Century Farm, Denver Downs, in Anderson and still love going to Clemson events.

Super cute, got as gift for my brother who just graduated from Clemson. Only complaint is I wish it had more artwork of actual spots on campus and shows more the tradition.
